Biography

Winslow Robertson is a Ph.D. Candidate in Managing People in Organizations at IESE Business School, University of Navarra researching the intersection between ideology and management. Employing both qualitative and quantitative methods in his research, he hopes to explore every aspect of ideology, from political to racial to gender, in his research to unpack how this important concept influences organizations the world over.

In addition, he is also the founder and managing member of Cowries and Rice, a strategic management consultancy which promotes sustainable business practices by Chinese organizations operating abroad. He has over a decade of experience studying and working with Chinese actors operating and investing overseas. Combining this experience with his research interests, he studies China/Africa relations broadly and Chinese economic engagement on the African continent specifically. He is also on the Executive Board of the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China Research Network.

Robertson earned his B.A. in History with a Minor in International Humanities from James Madison University (cum laude) and his M.A. in History from Syracuse University, focusing on West African history in both institutions.
